WHEN WE WET OUR BEARDS By William Warigon

WHEN WE WET OUR BEARDS

Our neighbours’ beards are on fire
Let us go help bring the fire down.
But first, we must get water desired
To wet well the beards of our own.

A year brought such sorrow;
Kidnappers kapering with impunity;
Insurgents stole our tomorrow:
Economic hardship in perpetuity…

If they put us in the blenders
They cannot just blend us like condiments;
For we are blender winners –
The original divinely unctioned instruments.

If we join our unscourged beards together,
We will be an amazing place
Where wretched turns to positive agitator
For an awesomely amazing grace.
