We were told
By them of old
The Saracens
Bore marks of sins
The hallmark of such story
Bore the make-belief
Of barbaric black-faced people
Enemies of Christian belief
In quest to make us fair people
We were despised and stoned
Colonized and congregated
Now we find the truth and reborn
Our faces stll coal black
We have the hearts of pure gold
The kind of kindness others lack
We bestow on our young and old
The red blood that runs in all men
Cannot its colour lie
The universality of men and women
The truth we can’t deny
