My icon of dependability
Your eyes are the twin towers of wisdom
They had analyzed many kingdoms
Your weary feet
Have not worn out your senses
Each smile hides
Princely pieces of advice
Each crease of your wrinkled face
Has a flattery for history
Your communion with the tortoise
Is a testimony of harmony
Each pain etched on your body
Has a sweet tale to whet the ears of your descendants
Behind each twinkle of your ancient eyes
You hold the torch to salvation,
Your songs redefine the essence of redemption
As you wait for the clock to drop its joke.
Your shoes are too big for your descendants to wear
For the magnitude of their worth, we fear
Before you bid us farewell
Kiss us and say: “It is well”
